Everybody asks me what’s the best way to be prepared for testimony at trial? First, who am I testifying for and what am I testifying about? The person asking the questions should be giving you the questions ahead of time so you understand. Make sure you receive all the documents or information that you’re going to be testifying about. Get that information and actually prepare answers so you’re not nervous during the testimony. Equally important when testifying. Always look at the jury or if it’s a trial where there’s only a judge, then look at the judge. Don’t get tricked into looking at the trial lawyer who is asking you the questions. They’re not making the decisions. If you have more questions, consult an experienced trial lawyer.
